Durham Brontos Gather for a Thanksgiving Feast

Beth Perry

What better way to end the week than a big Thanksgiving potluck! With the holiday less than a week away, Bronto’s Durham office (led by our fabulous social committee) took the opportunity to come together for a little pre-holiday celebration … and a lot of food!

Happy Thanksgiving! The company provided the turkey, ham and stuffing, and the rest of us filled the tables with crock pots and trays of 39 mouth-watering sides and 34 scrumptious desserts. Folks brought everything from the traditional sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce to delicious stromboli and spaetzle. And with all the cheesecakes, cookies, puddings and other sweet treats, it was impossible to pick just one!

This year, the social committee mixed it up a bit and asked us to submit our votes for Best Side and Best Dessert via text. Each dish was assigned a code, and they tallied the results to name the winners. Top honors went to Russ Lombardo for his amazing sweet potato casserole and Justin Carpenter for his World Famous Kahlua Cheesecake. Russ took home a spatula and grill set, and Justin won a spatula and apron. Congrats, guys!

It was such a fun event, particularly for this month’s kitchen duty winners – Matthew, Malcolm, Russ and Ebin – who were invited to jump to the front of the line to kick off the feast.

First in lineThe Thanksgiving potluck has become a much-loved Bronto tradition, even if we all need a few laps around the office afterward to stave off the tryptophan-induced food coma. What a great way to end the week and kick-start the holiday season! Happy Thanksgiving, Brontos!
