Workflow Automation is a powerful tool that can do many things, such as send messages. Lots and lots of messages. With every message sent, a new delivery is created in the Bronto Marketing Platform. For Bronto, this means millions upon millions of deliveries are created and tracked. For you, the Bronto user, this means your delivery grids are full of these single sends.
For example, if you have a three-part Welcome Series implemented in a workflow and that workflow sends an average of 1000 deliveries per week, your deliveries grid would now have 1000 deliveries to sort through. Stats (open rates, click rates, etc) for these deliveries are individually tracked and would look something like this:
While it is helpful to know how each individual send performed, it is typically more important to know the overall performance over a specified period of time. To help with this, we have implemented Workflow Send Aggregation. Workflow Send Aggregation automatically creates a single daily delivery for each message used in the workflow. Looking at the example above, we see that three different messages were used in the workflow on Oct. 3. This would then create a grid for those three deliveries that looks like this:
Workflow Send Aggregation improves your ability to digest the data. It also helps with other functionality, such as Delivery Groups, as you now have significantly fewer deliveries to add to a delivery group when trying to perform aggregate reporting on workflow sends. This change will be enabled on all sites on Oct. 27 and will only apply to deliveries that are sent after your site has been enabled. All previously sent deliveries will remain listed as individual delivery rows.
