The Dalai Lama once said, “A lack of transparency results in distrust and a deep sense of insecurity.” At Bronto, transparency is one of the key principles we all strive toward. And we believe that showing our customers what happens behind the scenes is crucial to developing a great relationship.
To grant our customers even more transparency, we’ve created a new tool that offers real visibility into what’s happening in your account. The Audit Log allows any user to see what actions have been performed. For example, if I were to log in to my Bronto account, create a message, edit the message and then delete the message, the log would look something like this:
Simplicity was important to us when designing this feature. We wanted to make it as easy as possible to see the four main pieces of information you typically need: the user, the action, the object and the time. But the Audit Log does include a filter so you can select what types of objects appear in the grid. In the example above, I have set the filter to only display messages. It also features a search bar where you can search for individual users. To make sure you only see the most relevant entries, the Audit Log will clear any entries older than three weeks.
