Throughout the year, our active committee strives to provide opportunities for employees to interact and participate in healthy and lively activities. One of the oldest traditions is our biannual 5k. This is my fourth 5k run with Bronto, and I can officially say you never know what kind of weather you’re going to get! This time, we found ourselves ready to run on a rainy, humid day.

But luckily, Brontos are dedicated and resilient, so off we went. We even had 5 runners finish under 25 minutes! Talk about striving for results.

Despite the wet weather, every Bronto that crossed the finish line stayed to cheer on their colleagues. Haley, an almost 12-year veteran of Bronto, even ran back to run with the last group. That’s what team spirit is all about!

At the end of the run, we gave out awards to the fastest racers.

Fastest 3 Men

Jeremy Bobbitt

Chris Arrington

Brett Baker (first organized run in over 20 years)

Fastest 3 Women

Clair McCune

Nisha Parbhakar

Haley Robinson

Of course, in true Bronto tradition, we couldn’t just stop there. Awards were also given for Average Attitude, Not Last, Best Dressed and the one who Gave It Their All. And two runners received an extra surprise award for People Who Didn’t Think 5k Was Enough. Javed Mortuza missed the turnaround, and Haley Robinson finished the race and went back for more.

A big shout-out to everyone who participated in spite of the weather. The energy was contagious, and I can’t wait to do it again in the fall.
