best_of_blogosphereIt’s time to get back to work after the holiday weekend.  Want to know what you missed in the blogosphere? We’ve got your Thanksgiving/Black Friday wrap-up, a new B2B study, changes to AOL’s Enhanced White List, a clever new Twitter technique to find the best time to send, and much more!

  • So how did it go? The long weekend broke all kinds of records for email volume.  Check out The Retail Email Blog’s nifty reportlet on the holiday weekend’s email marketing metrics.
  • AOL has announced that their Enhanced White List (EWL) is now taking into consideration subscriber engagement, and not just complaint ratios any more. Heads-up for email marketers: this means that even if you send permission-based email, if your contacts aren’t opening and interacting with your messages, your inbox deliverability may suffer.
  • One of the most common questions we hear is what the best day to send email is, and as we always say, it depends.  That being said, here’s a super-cool trick using Twitter to determine the best day and time to send.
  • Have you been wondering why contacts are unsubscribing? MediaPost has the dirt from the Chief Marketing Officer Council’s recent survey: the #1 reason is lack of relevancy, and #2 is frequency.  Check out these and other insightful stats on how consumers view the major brands in their inbox.
  • B2B marketers, this one’s for you: Forrester Research just released their webinar on Key Trends in B2B Ecommerce: From Fulfilling Demand to Creating Demand.
  • If you’re thinking about revamping your email design, Dylan Boyd has a great makeover story for you.

What was the best campaign you saw during the holiday weekend? Have you tried this Twitter technique or discovered any others? Share with us in the comments below!
