A few weeks ago, I proposed the following question on Twitter:
My favorite answer, compliments of Alex C. Williams of eROI, was: “Email is free, email marketing isn’t.”
Other answers included:
- “Yes! Someone needs to educate them and who better to do it than you?!” from @email_queen
- “They still make that model?” from @rlevans
- “If you have a $10 head, buy a $10 helmet.” Where do you place value? from @jhertzberg
- “You mean prospect thinks it shouldn’t pay for the resources/time it consumes? would make me want to run screaming.” from @evansmom
The answers to this questions serves as a good reminder that there is a big difference between email and email marketing.
