November 16th, 2007 by DJ Waldow

Sometimes at Bronto, the stars align. This week, it all came together…

-On Wednesday, Marketing Sherpa posted a new case study (an emerging trend?) - How to Add Video to Email on a Shoestring Budget & Double Conversions: 6 Steps + 6 Lessons Learned. (We followed most of the steps). Make sure to check out the study today as “open access” ends on 20 Nov 07.

-On Thursday, Kimberly and I taped a live version of BrontoFire - (see last month’s blog post: BrontoFire is Born).

-Today, we are taking a big gulp of the Kool-Aid. BrontoFire: Live, YouTube Style

Tell us what you think.

Fun - I like this piece, good to see you get in front of the Camera…

However you need to work on the volume a bit - I had to crank the volume to hear it.

Thanks for the comment. Volume…argh. I know. I know.

BrontoFire Version 1.0 was filmed in one take. We didn’t want it to be perfect on the first round, right? Room for improvement. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Great idea! I especially like the lo-fi production and “one-take” ethic. Very punk rock.

Very cool, guys. I applaud the one-take ethic and bravery of putting yourselves in front of the camera. I thought it was well delivered and interesting. And I’m glad that I could once again give you guys some subject lines to debate.

I’d echo that the sound was a little uneven in a few spots. I also wonder if you could throw a little more light on yourselves without making the screen difficult to read.

But all in all, very well done. Kudos.

    Chad -

Thanks for providing the inspiration. More to come with BrontoFire. Version 1.1 and forward will look to improve lighting and sound; that was quite apparent from all comments so far. We erred on the side of one-take, low budget, work to improve in the subsequent versions. Hey…if Gmail can be in Beta still after all of these years…

    Thanks again.
