We’re set to launch a set of product updates this Wednesday morning, November 8. The update will include, among other things, numerous enhancements to our HTML email template system.
In addition to the following descriptions and screenshots, I encourage you to take a few minutes to build a test message using a default template on Wednesday morning - even if you never use default templates. There’s no better way to learn than by doing…
As always, let us know if you have questions or feedback.

New Template Features
As already know, templates are the primary focus of this update. We’ve re-written the template framework in order to provide greater flexibility for the user (repeatable Sections) and more control for the designer (more template attribute controls).
Additionally, we’ve extended our default template library by adding more color choices for many of the selections.
Repeatable Sections
Sections are areas in the template that you can clone in order to extend the template to accommodate additional content.
For example, a newsletter template may be set up to have a repeatable section containing a section header and a section body, with each header/body section designed to represent a “story” for the newsletter. This type of design would allow you to clone the section as many times as necessary to accommodate the story sections intended for the newsletter.
As shown below, you can use the up, down, add, and delete controls to manipulate sections in default and custom templates.

Outline View
The new Outline View lists all of your editable template blocks and provides a link to edit each block. You can also use the Outline View to take a quick preview of the content in each block.

Preview
The Preview tab displays a preview of how your template will look to your recipients. Note that you can toggle between Edit, Outline, and Preview without losing your work. Bronto saves everything automatically.

Dynamic Content
We simplified the controls that enable you to build Dynamic Content into your template-based messages. Your dynamic blocks will appear in the Outline tab and also appear as tabs in the template editor, as shown below:

Other Goodies
A few other changes of note:
- The updated “Contact Support” form moved to the header block of the application, right beside the “Account Info” link.
- We simplied the Delivery Time dropdown on the message delivery page to show only current times and your time zone.
- We added functionality that allows you to specify multiple email addresses to receive survey responses.
- Last, but not least, we made certain that you message subject line will always appear on the message delivery page.
